Dr. Laurie Craigen
Dr. Laurie Craigen received her Ed.S. in School Psychology and her
Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the College of William and Mary, in
Williamsburg, Virginia. Currently, Laurie is an assistant professor in the Department of Counseling and Human Services at Old Dominion University Laurie is also a Licensed Professional Counselor, working in private practice in Suffolk, Virginia. The majority of her clients are individuals engaging in self-injurious behavior. Over the past several years, Laurie has written, researched, and presented on self-injury at a local, regional, and national level.

both a didactic and interactive workshop aimed at promoting awareness,
knowledge, and skills related to self-injury. The workshop on

- Characteristics and demographics of individuals who participate in this behavior.
- Causes of self injury
- Triggers to episodes of self injury
- Exploration of current related research
- Description, application and practice of various treatment interventions
